Abstract: Developing transformative engineering solutions that shape the future can be guided by tools such as Future World Vision, the Envision Rating System, ASCE 73: Standard Practice for Sustainable Infrastructure, and other resources available from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and its partners. These frameworks can be applied by vibration engineers and professionals in related fields to support sustainable and resilient project outcomes. The Future World Vision digital platform allows users to visualize emerging engineering challenges, explore applications of new technologies, and examine potential outcomes through future-scenario forecasting. Its companion film, Cities of the Future, extends this vision to global audiences and is supported by an educational guide and hands-on learning activities. The Envision sustainability framework and rating system provides 64 indicators that help project teams implement more sustainable, resilient, and equitable infrastructure. Project sustainability can be evaluated using a self-assessment tool or by an independent verification process that may result in an award recognizing the level of sustainability achievement attained. ASCE 73—the first performance-based consensus engineering standard of its kind—offers comprehensive guidance for integrating sustainable practices throughout the entire infrastructure life cycle. It ensures that stakeholder needs are met while balancing economic, environmental, and social impacts. Together, these innovative tools and resources are driving transformative engineering and nature-based solutions that enhance quality of life, support environmental stewardship, and prepare society for the challenges of the future..
